A claim that “Mastering Chinese Written Language in 90 days” was posted as a question at Yahoo!Answers for a few times. No negative comment with any logical reasoning was given there. The following is one of the Q/A.
Question: How big the Yahoo!Answers universe is?
I asked the following question a few days ago.
"Can that claim [Mastering Chinese Written Language in 90 days!] be real linguistically?
I received many great answers for my previous question "Why Chinese Is So Damn Hard?" Then, someone informed me about one young American claimed "Mastering Chinese Written Language in 90 days!"
I found that claim after a search. It provides the news reports from many newspapers and many TV stations. It also provides some info about being reviewed by Taiwan government and many American universities.
Yet, can that claim be real linguistically?"
I did not get a single answer with an explanation while someone did gave an one word answer "no" which is just an opinion.
Is that too difficult of a question? Is there no one capable of giving out a logic explanation in the Yahoo!Answers community?
Answer:
From Louie the linguist
You question is so vague : "Why Chinese Is So Damn Hard?"
You would need to explain a lot more about yourself and your goals. What did (do) you find hard? What methods do you use? Have you studied other languages and found them much easier?
Remember that the crowd who answers questions here is not necessarily made up of specialists, or people with more insight than you have. Just as the net itself, the answers and quality of information varies considerably.
